Electric Company (Penelec), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The employment opportunity is for the position of Meter Reader-A (Temporary) in our Towanda, PA service area. Responsibilities include:
Accurately reading and recording meter readings for the purpose of billing. - Walking or driving routes and traversing terrains that include hills and slopes, grass or stone, as well as solid surfaces.
Working in all weather conditions involving surfaces that may be dry, wet, slushy, snow covered or icy given the prevailing
conditions.
Ascending and descending stairways and steps. - Adhering to all company policies, safety rules and promoting a positive image to the
community
. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED.
Possess a current, valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a personal vehicle to use for route (mileage will be reimbursed).
Reside within a 40 minute travel time of the service location.
Willing and able to work under unusual or special working conditions/surroundings, work additional hours as required, as well
as, in all weather conditions that may occur.
Prior customer contact and route driving experience is desirable .
Must successfully complete our Meter Reader aptitude test and submit to our pre-employment physical and substance
screenings.
Must pass a background investigation, which will include a driver's abstract from Pennsylvania Department of Motor
vehicles
